Julie admits that she has become “addicted to torturing April” (317). She has started posting mean comments on her YouTube video and likes to text her cryptic messages. After Bobby broke Leo’s nose, she sent April the picture of Mark out of anger. She acknowledges that it won’t do anything to bring “justice” for Courtney, but it makes her feel better.

Julie goes over to Maria’s house. They have become good friends recently, with Julie realizing that she is “everything” she thought April was—before she learned April was evil.

Julie asks Maria if she is going to have any more children, noting what a good father Sean is. However, Maria tells her that she can’t have children, as she had a hysterectomy to save her life several years ago. Owen is Sean’s child from his first marriage, but his wife died of breast cancer.

A few days later, Julie goes over to April’s house to talk about the PTA fundraiser. When she gets there, Sean is in her living room changing her lightbulb. He leaves when he finishes, but Julie can’t help but note how guilty he looks over being found there.
